Canada 150 Festivities, New Brunswick Canada

1. Canada 150 Celebrations

Canada’s got a B-I-G birthday this year (150 candles to be exact), and as one of the founding provinces we can’t wait to celebrate the birth of this beautiful nation. From tall ships to fireworks, join us for fun and festivities all year long. (January 1-December 31)


2. Fredericton FROSTival

Grab your hat and mittens! FROSTival, Atlantic Canada’s largest winter celebration, is coming to Fredericton. Skating, live music, countless workshops and yummy food? Yes please. (Fredericton, January 19-February 12)

3. Maple Capital of Atlantic Canada Festival

“Sugar Season” really is as delicious as it sounds. Taste your way through Saint-Quentin’s Maple Capital of Atlantic Canada Festival this spring to satisfy your sweet tooth. (Saint-Quentin, April 11-16)


4. Frye Festival

Book clubs, roundtables and readings… oh my! Moncton’s Frye Festival is Atlantic Canada's largest literary happening and a bookworm's paradise. (Moncton, April 22-29)

5. Festival Western

Calling all cowgirls and cowboys! If you like concerts, rodeos and saloons, you’ll wanna put the Festival Western de Saint-Quentin on your to-do list. Plaid isn’t mandatory, but encouraged. (Saint-Quentin, July 4-9)


6. Shediac Lobster Festival

Can someone pass the butter, please? Shediac is the Lobster Capital of the World, so each year we carve out 5 full days to celebrate this mouth-watering dish. Make sure you bring your bib if you’re coming to the Shediac Lobster Festival. (Shediac, July 5-9)

8. Fisheries and Aquaculture Festival

The vibrant fishing town of Shippagan celebrates its maritime heritage during the New Brunswick Fisheries and Aquaculture Festival. If you’ve never seen a blessing of the fleet, here’s your chance! Sporting events, concerts, theatre, craft fair and more. (Shippagan, July 8-16)

9. Buskers on the Bay Festival

If you want street theatre at its best, you’ll want to head to Saint John this summer for the Buskers on the Bay Festival. Five days and nights of side-splitting comedy and miraculous feats are waiting for you. (Saint John, July 12-16)


10. Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival

The Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival will strike a chord with classical music lovers. Enjoy an authentic acoustic experience in beautiful historic churches with performances on period instruments. (Lamèque, July 27 - 29)

12. Festival acadien de Caraquet

Get ready to party loud and proud at the biggest Acadian celebration of the year. With a spectacular program of 400 artists and events, including the joyous Tintamarre parade on Acadian Day, you’ll experience joie de vivre at its best at the Festival acadien de Caraquet(Caraquet, August 1-15)

13. La Foire Brayonne

Celebrate the legendary Republic of Madawaska during La Foire Brayonne. Immerse yourself in the vibrant Brayon culture and history during one of the largest Francophone festivals east of Quebec. (Edmundston, August 2-6)


14. Folksong Festival

Fancy a fiddle? Are you feelin’ folky? You’ll want to make your way to Miramichi to experience the Folksong Festival, Canada’s longest running folk festival. Headlining in 2017 is celebrated fiddler Natalie MacMaster with Donald Leahy and family. (Miramichi, August 6-11)

15. Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta

It’s a balloon bonanza. Hot air balloons of every shade take to the skies during the Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta. Take a balloon ride, visit the car show or the craft fair, watch the teddy bear parade, or grab your water squirter and march in the Sparade during Atlantic Canada’s most colourful festival. (Sussex, September 8-10)


16. Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival
